C-litter 14 wks

Some new more pictures of Cassy and Caesar with 14 wks old - Caesar with 2,3 kg and Cassy with 1,8 kg.
We could say a lot about these two but we think it will never be enough...
They have a super temper, spending most of their time purring and playing with each other and with the "teenagers" that are still with us and they love to sit on our lap...
It's a joy to see them grow!

From 2003 until 2010 Fred was the man behind Sterrekatten. Now Fred and Andrea from Forest Myths cattery joined forces into a renewed Sterrekatten & Forest Myths cattery.
We want to combine our best cats to make a new step in improving the quality of our breeding. We have selected our best cats from our former catteries , neutered the others and gave them new homes where they can live as pets. We will make our new start in 2011 with the selected breedingcats.
Our general goal is to breed big and strong cats with excellent qualities like wild expression, big ears with tufts and an excellent coat. We have selected our breeding cats according to these qualities.

NFO Temper

A well-socialized and carefully bred Norwegian has a tolerant and stable temperament. They are not easily thrown off balance by anything and aggression and anxiety are foreign to them. They have a strong tendency to attach themselves to one person in particular. They like being with their people, but prefer lying beside their owners rather than on them. They regard a visitor with some caution at first, before they decide to make friends, but always in a self-confident manner. They usually communicate with humans by means of subtle body language and eye contact and despite being very playful, they can pass unnoticed among us

NFO Appearence

The Norwegian is a large, powerfully built cat with a massive skeletal structure and a long body. Males weigh on average 12 to 19 pounds, whilst females are in general lighter in build and smaller, although in some bloodlines there are exceptions. The cat stands high on its legs and has large, round paws. The hind legs are longer than the front ones. The tail is bushy and when held along the back should reach at least as far as the shoulder blades. It can take three years before the cat is fully grown.

NFO Care and maintenance

A Norwegian Forest cat with a well-structured coat, typical of the breed, needs scarcely any grooming. In Spring the coat undergoes a heavy, but short lasting molt, losing a high proportion of the undercoat. Many breeders do not brush or comb their animals, but pick loose dead hairs from the coat with thumb and forefinger, since too much brushing can cause "gaps" in the coat. There is usually an appreciable difference between the appearence of a Norwegian in winter and in summer. In the winter, the coat is luxurious, very dense, and often with a large ruff, while in summer the cat can look almost shorthaired.
